Return Window

You have 30 days from the date of delivery to request a return for a refund or exchange.


Eligibility for Returns

To be eligible for a return, items must:

  • Be unused and in the same condition that you received them
  • Be in the original packaging
  • Include all accessories, components, and documentation
  • Not show signs of installation, modification, or use

Non-Returnable Items

The following items cannot be returned:

  • Custom or personalized orders
  • Items marked as final sale or clearance
  • Gift cards
  • Downloadable digital products
  • Items damaged due to misuse, modification, or improper installation

Return Process

To initiate a return:

  1. Contact us at support@woodenanvil.net within 30 days of delivery
  2. Provide your order number and reason for return
  3. We'll send you return instructions and a return authorization number
  4. Pack the item securely in its original packaging
  5. Ship the item to the address provided (you are responsible for return shipping costs unless the item is defective or we made an error)

Important: Do not ship returns without contacting us first. Unauthorized returns may not be processed.


Refund Timeline

Once we receive and inspect your returned item:

  • Approved refunds will be processed within 5-7 business days
  • Refunds will be issued to your original payment method
  • Please allow 5-10 business days for the refund to appear in your account (depending on your financial institution)

Return Shipping Costs

  • Standard returns: Customer is responsible for return shipping costs
  • Defective or incorrect items: We will provide a prepaid return label
  • Damaged items: We will provide a prepaid return label and full refund

Pro tip: We recommend using a trackable shipping service and purchasing shipping insurance for returns. Wooden Anvil is not responsible for items lost or damaged during return shipping.


Exchanges

We do not offer direct exchanges at this time. If you need a different item:

  1. Return your original item for a refund
  2. Place a new order for the item you want

Damaged or Defective Items

If you receive a damaged or defective item:

  • Contact us within 7 days of delivery
  • Provide photos of the damage or defect
  • We'll arrange for a replacement or full refund at no cost to you
  • We'll provide a prepaid return label if the item needs to be returned

Wrong Item Received

If we shipped you the wrong item:

  • Contact us immediately
  • We'll send the correct item at no charge
  • We'll provide a prepaid return label for the incorrect item

Cancellations

Before shipping:

  • Orders can be cancelled within 24 hours of placement for a full refund
  • After 24 hours, orders that have not yet shipped may be subject to a restocking fee

After shipping:

  • Once an order has shipped, it cannot be cancelled
  • You may return the item following our standard return policy

VIP Member Returns

VIP members receive:

  • Free return shipping on all non-custom items
  • Extended 60-day return window
  • Priority processing on refunds

Kickstarter & Pre-Orders

Products purchased through Kickstarter campaigns or pre-orders:

  • Are covered by this return policy once delivered
  • Cannot be cancelled after the campaign closes
  • May have extended delivery timelines
  • Will be communicated with regular updates

Refund Methods

Refunds will be issued using the same payment method used for the original purchase:

  • Credit/Debit cards: 5-10 business days
  • PayPal: 3-5 business days
  • Shop Pay: 3-5 business days

Restocking Fees

We do not charge restocking fees on standard returns, except:

  • Large or heavy items (over 50 lbs): 15% restocking fee
  • Custom orders that were started but not completed: up to 25% restocking fee

International Returns

International customers are responsible for:

  • Return shipping costs
  • Any customs fees or duties incurred during return shipping
  • International returns may take 15-30 days to process
